BNI Greater San Diego Chapter

The Greater San Diego Chapter of BNI has had a remarkable summer of meaningful, business-growing networking.  Since April 1st we have generated and completed $87,834 in business for one another.  With 35 members on average, that’s $2,509 per person over a 3.5 month period.

How does it work?  We make a priority of attending our Thursday morning meeting so we can get to know each other and each other’s business.  We take our training seriously so we can do the best possible job in communicating what we want to grow our business.  We are honorable and ethical with the referrals we receive so we will get more referrals.

I heard someone say “I don’t have the money for BNI”.  That’s a very short-sighted view because on a $440 annual registration, our group is on track to create $10,038 per member, per year.  I’m not very good at math, but I think that’s a 21x return on investment.

We have a tracking system that allows us to understand how much money moves through this business referral group.  This last week we had three members all generate referrals resulting in more than $500 in business (just last week!).  Thank you for closed business to:

When we pass more than 50 referrals in a week and average about $20,000 in business completed per month, this is just a small indicator of our members’ committment to growing their businesses.

Welcome new members!  We’re up to 38 members who want to share business with one another every week, and that means each member has expanded their sales force by 37 people.

The Greater San Diego BNI chapter has hit a milestone: In the three months since our new term started on April 1, the chapter has generated over $55,000 in revenue for each other. That means we gave each other referrals that turned into real business and members reported back to the chapter that those referrals created business for them.

Generating revenue for each other is why we get out of bed that early in the morning on Thursdays. It’s not about the food! It’s about connecting with people we like to work with and who are in a position to refer us to new potential clients.

Our group is growing, which means more referrals for each other. Join us next Thursday at the Best Western Seven Seas Hotel. Meeting starts at 7:00 a.m.

Givers gain: support Visitors Day for chapter growth

Our chapter is preparing with great energy for a vigorous Visitors Day on May 19th.  This week members are encouraged to bring their 20 letters to addressed to professionals we would like to see in our group.  We are actively looking for florists, attorneys, specialty tradesmen, and other business owners who want more business referrals.

The Greater San Diego chapter is ready in every way for more members to share business with.  If you receive a letter from one of our chapter members, we encourage you to take the opportunity to lock out your competition from a vibrant networking group seriously.

Members, please bring your letters, and 20 additional names for next week’s letters, to our Thursday meeting so we can keep on schedule.

The Visitors Day system is a well-oiled machine that works best when everyone participates.  The benefits of that effort are obvious with new members who will share business with us.

Visitors Day is a significant opportunity for our chapter to reach new business owners with the idea of BNI and bring in new members we can refer business to.  The health and vibrancy of any chapter depends on existing members bringing in visitors to expand our referral base, and hopefully those visitors convert to membership, further expanding the people we trust in doing business with.

Members, please use Visitors Day as the opporutnity it is to expand your network.  If you are not a member of a BNI chapter and receive a letter inviting you to a Visitors Day, please consider how you could increase your business if you had 25-40 people talking about your service or product when they hear an opportunity.

Our chapter’s Visitors Day will be on May 19th.  Other chapters throughout San Diego will be holding theirs on different days.  It is good for business.

The Chapter’s new Leadership Team held their first meeting on April 1st, and ended almost perfectly on time. In that meeting alone, we passed a remarkable $19,000 in referral business.
